Wonder Women Like Me…Only Better.
Yes, I like to consider myself a Wonder Woman, it’s empowering and fun…but there are hundreds of other Wonder Women out there in the world who tackle bigger problems, tougher challenges and scarier foes than me.
For example:
> Actress/Producer Virginia Madsen (Sideways, The Astronaut’s Wife) decided to ask for donations for charity in lieu of presents on her birthday just a few days ago. Her dream of helping tackle the clean water problem in foreign countries is admirable and WONDERous. You can help too. See her charity:water page and help “Dig It” if ya can. http://mycharitywater.org/p/campaign?campaign_id=430

Actress/Producer Virginia Madsen
> Another Wonder Woman who is part of an ever growing female Justice League is Explorer and Wildlife Expert, Dr. Mireya Mayor, “the female Indiana Jones.” She doesn’t have an invisible plane, but she braves elephant charges, insect bites and primate moodiness on her quest to document the behavioral habits of the Lowland Gorilla in the Congo. Yeah, Wonder Woman (that’s me) is brave, but this gal’s got big cojones, not to mention an interesting background. Check her out at http://www.mireyamayor.com/

Lesla
> Battling the scariest foe known to man, CANCER, Lesla has difficult chemo-filled days, but manages to spread joy to lots of people on Twitter. Her kind words and thoughtful messages lift spirits with only 140 characters. I admire her tenacity and her good will. See her in tune: http://www.youtube.com/twitterjunkie
> I can’t even BEGIN to eloquently describe this energetic, extreme ranchin’ Wonder Woman. See for yourself. http://thepioneerwoman.com/

Donna Gray
> My friend, Donna Gray, just logged over 5,000 miles on her motorcycle…alone. She’s not finished yet. Traveling from Arizona to Tennessee, Florida, Louisiana and then back…this Super Duper Wonder Woman’s bravery leaves me speechless. Sporting a new tattoo from NOLA, she’s writing a book about her travels. Stay tuned for more on my favorite biker chick.

SuperHero Mom
>Last but not least…I want to recognize my Super Hero mom. “The Queen of the Amazons” has battled and WON against nasty villians lung cancer, bladder cancer and stroke. Courage, strength and the will to survive are her weapons. She wears the Wonder Woman tiara proud, while doctors describe her as “fiesty.” Good. Although diabetes and kidney disease challenge her to fierce duels every day, her positive attitude keeps hope alive for the Amazons she and my father, another Super Hero, raised.
More Super Heroes to come!
